Handing your property to a management company is a leap of faith. You’re not just
outsourcing a task — you’re trusting someone else with an asset that, for most owners,
took years to build up and matters a great deal. So rather than simply asking you to take
our word for it, this post sets out the standards a trustworthy serviced accommodation
manager should meet, and how EzeeBnB measures up against them — including two
formal commitments we’ve recently put in place.
What Actually Makes a Management Company Trustworthy?
Independent guidance for landlords choosing a serviced accommodation manager
consistently comes back to a similar set of criteria. Owners are advised to weigh up a
company’s experience and track record in the industry, alongside a genuine range of
services covering marketing, guest management and maintenance rather than a partial
offering. Guidance aimed specifically at UK landlords goes further, noting that choosing
the wrong management company can lead to poor reviews, low occupancy, compliance
risk and unnecessary stress — while the right one turns a property into a reliable,
dependable income stream.
Full transparency and real-time visibility over bookings also come up repeatedly as
hallmarks of a trustworthy operator. And beyond day-to-day service quality, formal
accountability matters: is the company independently answerable if something goes
wrong, and does it handle your data — and your guests’ data — properly?
That last point is where two recent steps we’ve taken matter most.
We’re Registered With The Property Ombudsman
Letting and managing agents in the UK are required by law to belong to a government
approved redress scheme, and The Property Ombudsman (TPO) is one of the longest
standing and most widely recognised of these. It’s an independent, not-for-profit body
that provides impartial, binding resolution when a dispute between an agent and a
client can’t be resolved directly.
EzeeBnB has recently registered with The Property Ombudsman. In practical terms, this
means that if you ever have a complaint about our service that we can’t resolve to your
satisfaction directly, you have a genuine, independent route to redress — one with a
formal process, a defined timeline, and decisions that are binding on us. This isn’t a
marketing badge; it’s a real external check on our conduct, and it’s the same standard
tenants and landlords rely on when dealing with established, reputable letting agents.
For an owner handing over their property, that matters. It means you’re not simply
relying on our word that things will be handled fairly — there’s an independent body
holding us to that standard.
We’re Registered With the ICO
Serviced accommodation involves handling a meaningful amount of personal data —
guest names, contact details, payment information, ID documents for check-in, and
your own details as the property owner. How that data is handled isn’t a minor
administrative detail; it’s a genuine responsibility.
EzeeBnB is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s
independent authority for data protection and information rights. Registration with the
ICO signals that we take our obligations under UK data protection law seriously, and
that we’re accountable to an independent regulator for how personal data — both yours
and your guests’ — is collected, stored and used.
Again, this isn’t just a compliance checkbox. For an owner, it’s a concrete answer to a
question you should absolutely be asking any management company: what happens to
my data, and my guests’ data, once it’s in your hands?
Why This Matters Alongside Everything Else
Formal accreditation isn’t a substitute for good service — it’s the accountability that sits
underneath it. Alongside our TPO and ICO registrations, the day-to-day standards we
hold ourselves to remain the same: full end-to-end management rather than a partial
service, transparent reporting so you can see what’s happening with your property, and
relationships built on the kind of trust that’s led the majority of our growth to come
through referrals from existing owners. People don’t recommend a management
company to friends and family unless their own property has genuinely been looked
after well.
Put together, that’s the case we’d ask you to judge us on: independent, binding
accountability through The Property Ombudsman; regulated, accountable data
handling through ICO registration; a genuinely comprehensive service; and a track
record built on the recommendations of owners who’ve trusted us already.
What You Should Still Ask Us
Being trustworthy also means being comfortable with scrutiny. If you’re considering
working with EzeeBnB, you should feel entitled to ask direct questions before handing
over your keys: How do you handle guest damage or disputes? How and when do I get
paid, and how transparent is that reporting? What happens if something goes wrong
with a guest at 2am? What happens if we decide to part ways? A management company
worth trusting won’t flinch from those questions, and neither will we.
If you’d like to see our Property Ombudsman and ICO registration details, or simply want
to ask us these questions directly, get in touch with EzeeBnB. We’re happy to talk you
through exactly how we manage properties, report on performance, and look after the
owners who trust us with their homes.
